INSPIRED ties up with Good Market to build capacity among entrepreneurs in the Eastern Province
In September 2020, through the INSPIRED project, The Asia Foundation partnered with Good Market to build capacity and networking among micro and small business owners within selected locations in Trincomalee, Ampara and Batticaloa. The partnership aims to further facilitate inter-community dialogue and interaction between project beneficiaries through mentoring, knowledge sharing and training, with the aim of improving their business skills and perspectives via more sustainable channels.
As such, Good Market, in collaboration with the INSPIRED project team, aims to better understand the profiles of selected project beneficiaries to provide tailor-made trainings on themes such as supply chain management, use of technology, storytelling, creation of value additions and branding.
Good Market (www.goodmarket.global) is a curated global platform that works across economic sectors, income levels, language barriers, and regional divides, with the objective of promoting social cohesion and sustainable development among its networks. It connects with social enterprises, cooperatives, responsible businesses, voluntary organizations, and changemakers with the goal of encouraging the transition of the standard economy to a new platform by making the movement more visible and by making it easier for people to get involved. The core of their platform is the curation process and crowdsourced monitoring system that works across economic sectors, income levels, language barriers and regional divides. Good Market was set up in 2012 as a self-financing, not-for-profit social enterprise. Any surplus is reinvested to expand services for the community.
